  1. To take full advantage of this website's features, use Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.01 SP1 or higher. This site can be viewed with Netscape 4.6 or higher with 800 x 600 resolution. However, due to limitations with the Netscape browser, we strongly suggest that you use Internet Explorer.  For invoice reporting, ActiveX controls will be installed. You must have your browser configured to enable JavaScript and cookies. If you need assistance with this, please contact us at tacenergysupport@tacfuel.com, or see www.trumanarnoldcompanies.com/Support.asp for other contact information.
  2. Yes, this site can be viewed with Netscape 4.6 or higher. We have made every effort to ensure that Netscape users will be able to experience all the features this site has to offer. However, there are many limitations that are inherant within Netscape that will prevent you from taking advantage of certain features of this site, such as exporting to Excel and Adobe Acrobat, and printing.  While it is possible to simply view material with Netscape, you will find it difficult to do anything else beyond that.  Because of this, we suggest that you use Internet Explorer 5.01 SP1 or higher.  If your corporate IT department insists that you use Netscape, try to use Netscape 6.0 or higher.  While this does not completely fix all of the issues with Netscape, it does provide more functionality than earlier versions of that browser.  Both Internet Explorer and Netscape are available for free on the web; simply visit www.microsoft.com  or www.netscape.com for more information.
  3. All you have to do is visit our sign up page at www.tacenergy.com/misc/reglogin.asp. Fill out all the required information, submit the form, and one of the members of our technology department will contact you by phone to complete the setup procedure (see Understanding the Site below).
  4. Is your slow internet connection prohibiting you from using TACenergy.com's features? No problem - we still do business the old fashioned way! TAC has many methods available for delivering the information you need in the format that you need it. Just visit our contact page (www.trumanarnoldcompanies.com/contactus.html) for more information.
  5. Still having trouble with using some of the features of TACenergy.com? We have technology staff that is here to help you reap the full benefits of this technology; just contact our Corporate Office at (903) 794-3835 and ask for the TACenergy.com Help Desk.
  6. We welcome your feedback about this site!  Just visit www.tacenergy.com/misc/feedback.asp, and fill out the feedback form there.
  7. You will never be charged any fees for using our site, ever.  Tech support is free as well for our enrolled users.

Understanding the Site - A Tutorial

  1. Before you can use features such as the Invoicing Module and the Quoting Module, you must first be set up by our Technology Department. Go to www.tacenergy.com/misc/reglogin.asp and fill out the form with your information. A member of our staff will contact you to complete the set up process, and provide you with any help in logging in that you may need.  Simply go to the main page and click the Login button, and enter the credentials provided to you.
  2. Once you have logged in you must create a profile based on the type of web browser you are using (either Internet Explorer or Netscape). Since you do not have a profile, you will be sent to the Add Mode profile page. First, give your profile a name; this can be anything, but it is a good idea to pick a name that is descriptive of what the profile is used for, or the technology used (e.g., JoeInvoice or JoeActiveX). Then pick the type of technology to use in reporting, either ActiveX or HTML Page (see item 3 below). Once you have done that, click Update Profile, and you will be sent back to the profile selection page (your new profile will appear in the drop-down box). From this screen you can add a profile, edit any profile you have created, or delete a profile. You can also choose to proceed within the site. You can have as many profiles as you need, and you can edit or delete them as you see fit.
  3. So why choose ActiveX or HTML Page? Both technologies are ways of displaying information in a web browser. If you use Internet Explorer, ActiveX is your best option, since that technology is native to Internet Explorer. You can also choose HTML Page if you wish. Netscape, however, is not compatible with the ActiveX viewer, so if you have Netscape you can only choose HTML Page.
  4. When you first call up an invoice, our servers will attempt to install the Crystal Reports Smart Viewer for ActiveX.  Crystal Reports is third-party software that TACenergy uses to deliver content to you on your local machine.  When you first view a report, our servers install a generic ActiveX viewer and certain run-time libraries that support this viewer.  For a more detailed discussion of the software, including copies of our terms of use and software agreements, visit www.tacenergy.com/licensing.asp.
  5. Once you click on Retrieve Fuel Invoices, you will be presented with a host of options for viewing invoices. Here is a brief explanation of each:
    1. Retrieve by Invoice Number: this method calls a range of invoice in sequential order by the invoice   number itself (e.g., 278000-279000).
    2. Retrieve by Delivery Date: this method allows you to select invoices by a range of dates that a load was actually pulled from the rack.
    3. Retrieve by Bill of Lading number: this is a good way to cross-reference invoices, or find an invoice number when you have not actually received your invoice.
    4. Retrieve by Purchase Order: this is a number provided by the customer upon ordering fuel from TAC.
    5. Retrieve by Ship-To: this is your customer number that is unique to your location.
    6. Retrieve Multiple Invoices: if you need to pull multiple invoices (more than two and less than 36), use this option.
  6. If you need to retrieve invoices that are not in sequential order, use the Retrieve Multiple Invoice option discussed above.
  7. Once you have chosen your invoices, you are sent to the Invoice Criteria page. This page is very powerful because it shows you all of the choices you have made up to this point, and allows you to alter any choices you have made. For instance, if you chose to pull invoice 100 through 150, but you really needed to choose 100 through 350, just click on the Change From/To Invoice Number button. At the bottom of the page are two links: the first, Show Invoices, will pull up a window that will contain all of the invoices that you have selected for scrolling. The second link, Show Invoice List, brings up a window that contains a list of all the invoices in your range so that you can select individual ones.
  8. If you need technical support for this or any other TACenergy.com issue, visit www.tacenergy.com/Support.asp for information on how to get in touch with us.

    Known Issues (Technical Help)

  1. When attempting to print from the ActiveX screen in Internet Explorer, do not use the print icon in the Internet Explorer toolbar. Use the ActiveX printer icon (this is located in the ActiveX window, right above the tab labeled Preview). This will print your documents the way they appear on the page.
  2. NOTE:  there is a ten minute time-out within the secure sections of the site.  That means if you log into the invoicing or quoting modules and you do nothing for ten consecutive minutes, your connection will time-out, meaning that the next navigation you attempt will send you back to the login screen.  This is for security as well as practical purposes; if you leave your computer for more than ten minutes, it is extra insurance that no one will attempt to use your account.  It also frees up a connection on our server for other users that need to access the invoicing module.
  3. You may find the need to export invoices to a more manageable format, such as Excel or Word. You may also want to export to Adobe Acrobat Reader for ease of viewing outside of TACenergy.com. To do this, simply click on the Export Report button in the ActiveX window (this button is located directly above the Preview tab, right next to the printer icon). An export dialog window will open; in the File Name field, give the invoice a name, such as the invoice number. Beneath that you will see a Save As Type field. This is where you can select what type of file you want to save. Among the options listed are Microsoft Excel (.xls), Microsoft Word (.doc), and Adobe Acrobat format (.pdf). Incidentally, the Adobe Acrobat Reader is available for free; simply go to www.adobe.com and follow the links to get the Adobe Acrobat Reader.
  4. If you need to install any updates to your browser, visit the Windows Update site at http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/.
  5. Our site was designed to make full use of the technologies within Microsoft Internet Explorer.  Netscape, while functional, simply does not provide technologies that are advanced enough to handle many of the features incorporated into TACenergy.com.  We have found that printing, exporting files, and even viewing certain pages within our site is simply not possible with early versions of Netscape (version 5 and lower).  As mentioned above, it is recommended that you use Internet Explorer 5.01 SP1 or higher.  If you must use Netscape, use version 6.0 or higher.  Both of these are available for free; visit www.microsoft.com or www.netscape.com for more information.
  6. Your password to our site is set to expire periodically.  This is simply a safe practice - the more your password changes, the less likely it is for someone to be able to guess it.  A password for our site must be at least eight characters in length, must contain no spaces, cannot be the same as your user name, and cannot be the same as your most recent password.  If you have any trouble with changing your password, please contact the TACenergy.com support desk, and we will be happy to assist you.  One final note:  be sure to never give your password out to anyone!
  7. Upon entering a secure site for the first time, your web browser will inform you of such.  It means that you are attempting to make a secure connection to that particular website, in this case, TACenergy.com.  Our website provides secure communication and has a valid certificate.  Secure communication means that information you provide, such as you name or credit-card number, is encrypted so that it can't be read or intercepted by other people.  The certificate is a statement guarenteeing the security of the issuing web site.  A certificate contains information that a specific web site is authentic.  This ensures that no other site can assume the identity of the original site.
When you enter a secure web site, Internet Explorer displays a dialog box and a lock icon in a locked position on the status bar.  When you leave a secure web site, Internet Explorer displays a dialog box to notify you.  If you want to see this dialog box whenever you have entered a secure web site, make sure the check box named "In the future, do not show this warning" is clear.  TACenergy.com uses strong  encryption to secure your data against unauthorized access.
TACenergy.com uses Verisign, the most trusted name in internet security.  For more information on Versign and internet security in general, visit http://www.verisign.com
